Description
Dendrites- A short branched extension of a nerve cell, along which impulses received from other cells at synapses are transmitted to the cell body.
Soma- is the bulbous, non-process portion of a neuron or other brain cell type, containing the cell nucleus. The word "soma" comes from the Greek σῶμα, meaning "body".
Axon- the long threadlike part of a nerve cell along which impulses are conducted from the cell body to other cells.
Myelin Sheaths- is to increase the speed at which impulses propagate along the myelinated fiber.
Axon Terminals- The somewhat enlarged, often club-shaped endings by which axons make synaptic contacts with other nerve cells or with effector cells (muscle or gland cells). This also affects memory.
